We're awarding prizes in several categories:
Company Awards
These categories are designed to honor the best minority-owned businesses in Birmingham. Nominees will be judged based on overall business success, financial performance, reputation, community involvement and several other factors.
  • Best Minority-Owned Business (1-10 employees)
  • Best Minority-Owned Business (11-25 employees)
  • Best Minority-Owned Business (25 or more employees)
  • Encouraging Diversity Award - This award will be presented to a company who has gone above and beyond in promoting diversity in their company. Companies who are not minority-owned, but have made significant accomplishments in fostering diversity are eligible for this award.

Individual Awards
  • Wachovia Executive of the Year Award - Honoring a minority executive who has made a significant contribution to the business community for the past five years or more. Although these executives must represent a minority group, they can be employees of companies that are not minority-owned.
  • Rising Star Award - Honoring a minority professional or executive who has recently made a significant impact on the local business scene and who is poised to become a business leader in the future. Although these nominees must represent a minority group, they can be employees of companies that are not minority-owned.
