The EMA is hosting a community awareness day at Linn Park. The objective is to inform us on how to better prepare ourselves for any kind of natural disasters.
The FOX6 storm tracker will be there along with the weather team to sign autographs. The event is hosted by the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency.
BINGO CRACKDOWN
Bingo disputes are still going on between Fairfield and the Jefferson County sheriff's office. Fairfield officials have asked a circuit judge to block the Jefferson County sheriff's office from enforcing strict limits on electronic bingo operations.
According to Fairfield official's laws were passed in July to regulate bingo operations.
BIRMINGHAM MAN ARRESTED AFTER INTERSTATE CHASE
Alabama troopers report a Birmingham man was arrested Wednesday night along Interstate 20 after a chase by Georgia and Alabama state police.
The pursuit began around 8:30 p.m. and continued westbound on I-20 until the driver of the Monte Carlo slammed on his brakes causing the collision at the 178 mile marker in Talladega County.
Deandre Woods, 19, of Birmingham, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, attempting to elude, according to the trooper statement. Jail official's states he was being held this morning on the two charges with a $20,000 bond in the Talladega County Jail.
