ANTIGAMBLING TASK FORCE

Gov. Bob Riley has chosen Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson to lead his antigambling task force.

Riley made this announcement yesterday after David Barber step down as director of the governor's task force.

PASTOR ARRESTED

A Birmingham minister has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police say he disrupted efforts to evict his church.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Randy Christian Walking on Water Christian Church Pastor Karnie Smith disrupted the transfer of property to the owners.

Records show a foreclosure was completed on the building in September 2007 after the church fell behind on payments.

BIRMINGHAM MAYOR ELCET WILLIAM BELL TO BE SWORN IN

William Bell will be sworn in today as Birmingham's newest mayor.

Bell has already started to putt together his staff that will retain some old faces from the previous staff as well as some new faces.

According to Bell it's important to surround himself with people who have his same vision.
