Willis Pride was born and raised in Washington, D.C., but his roots are right here in Alabama as both of his parents were born in Alabama. Willis got his start in radio in Washington, D.C. at WOL-AM/WMMJ-FM were he served as Sports Director and News Anchor and was honored with the 1991 Support Person of the Year for Radio One. Upon moving to Birmingham in 2001, Willis accepted a position of Traffic Announcer and did daily traffic reports for Cox Communications until 2003 when he went on to handle the responsibility of programming 105-5 Hallelujah FM, helping to quickly turn the station into a top five in the Birmingham market. In February 2007, Willis returned home to Cox Radio to announce traffic reports on 98.7 KISS FM, 95-7 JAMZ and Heaven 610 AM. In addition, Willis was the producer for the Shelia Smoot on Your Side Show. Willis currently is heard on our sister station Heaven 610 WAGG daily from 3pm to 7pm and right here on 98.7 KISS FM weekdays form Midnight to 5 am and Saturdays from 3pm to 8pm.
